Summer Savory

Meet your beans’ new best friend! Summer savory is an aromatic herb with a peppery, earthy flavor and hints of thyme and mint. A little adds plenty of character to everyday cooking.

Uses

Add summer savory to beans, lentils, peas, soups, and stews. It also pairs well with chicken, pork, potatoes, stuffing, and egg dishes. Stir it into slow-cooked dishes early so its flavor has time to develop, starting with a small amount and adjusting to taste.

From the Colonel

There is Summer Savory and Winter Savory. Both of these types of Savory are relatives of the mint family. They both have a flavor that is somewhere between thyme and mint. Both Summer and Winter Savory have very bold flavors and so must be used with discretion. Summer is the most popular with chefs because it has the mildest flavor of the two. This product is Summer Savory.
