Allspice Berries

One little berry, a whole lot of flavor! Allspice brings bold, clove-like warmth with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger—all naturally packed into a single spice. These dried brown berries grow on tropical evergreen trees native to Central America and the Caribbean.

Add whole berries to soups, stews, pickling brines, and mulled drinks, or grind fresh for baking, marinades, and Jamaican-inspired jerk seasoning. Remove whole berries before serving.

Ingredients: Allspice berries.

Quick Recipe: Warm Spiced Cider
Combine 4 cups apple cider, 6 allspice berries, and 1 cinnamon stick in a saucepan. Simmer gently for 15–20 minutes, strain, and serve warm.

Quick Recipe: Allspice Roasted Carrots
Toss 1 pound sliced carrots with 1 tablespoon olive oil, ¼ teaspoon freshly ground allspice, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, and salt to taste. Roast at 400°F for 25–30 minutes, tossing halfway through, until tender.
