Sweet on the outside with a little zing underneath! These unsulfured crystallized ginger slices are cooked in cane sugar syrup and finished with a sweet crystalline coating. Each chewy bite balances ginger’s warm, peppery personality with just enough sweetness to keep things interesting.
Enjoy a slice straight from the bag, chop some into cookies, or give your morning oatmeal a reason to get out of bed. Crystallized ginger adds lively flavor and chewy texture to trail mix, muffins, fruit salads, and even savory sauces. It’s especially delicious paired with dark chocolate, citrus, pears, and apples.
Ingredients: Ginger, Cane sugar.
Chocolate-Dipped Ginger
Melt ½ cup dark chocolate chips in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each. Dip 12 crystallized ginger slices halfway into the chocolate and place on parchment paper. Let set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
Apple Ginger Crumble
Toss 3 peeled, chopped apples with ¼ cup finely chopped crystallized ginger, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon. Spread in a greased small baking dish. Mix ½ cup rolled oats, ¼ cup flour, ¼ cup brown sugar, and 3 tablespoons melted butter; sprinkle over the apples. Bake at 350°F for 35–45 minutes, until the apples are tender and the topping is golden.
